Singer Monica and Orly collaborate to Make New Polish Line!

Singer Monica and Orly have joined forces to create “Nail Inspirations” which is the name of the new line of polishes that will be introduced this year. According to S2Smagazine.com we could see the polish in stores as soon as July.

Each bottle of polish will be accompanied by an inspirational message for women to stay encouraged and focused. What a great idea! A little motivation never hurt anyone. I'm all for it, can't wait.

Ulta Professional Nail Lacquer in Total Eclipse

I don't think I have ever tried a polish I truly did not like. This is my first time using Ulta's Professional Nail Lacquer. I'm not sure if I was taking too long or what but it seemed to start drying out on me in the middle of my mani. I added some thinner which helped and kept it going. I need to see if that happens to me again.

Anywho...This color is AWESOME. It's like a midnight blue. Just gorgeous. I applied two coats of the color, a clear top coat and my Seche Vite Dry Fast.

For the design I call this my whiskering technique. Just take the nail brush and sweep it across the nail a few times, layering the colors. I used both Sally Hansen's Gray by Gray #350 and Sonia Kashuk's Smoke and Mirrors #10.

OPI's Suzi Loves Cowboys..And So Do I

Today I'm showing off OPI's Suzi Loves Cowboys, a chocolate cream polish from the Texas collection. I think this polish nicely compliments my darker skin tone. I've seen this polish against lighter skin tones and it looked just as nice.

On the ring finger I did a little free style marbling on the tips using my dotting tool. I made dots with three polishes and swirled them about. I used the SLCB polish, Finger Paint's Paper Mache and Sally Hansen's Golden Ticket.

As always I used a clear top coat and finishd off with my staple Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat.

Tell me what you think.

Happy Early St. Patrick's Day-Zoya Shawn

Happy early St. Patty's Day to my fellow Irish and non-Irish lads..lol

So today I'm modeling Zoya in Shawn. This is a gorgeous jelly green! On the ring finger I'm wearing Avon's Pale Gold. I also used a decoupage technique for my shamrocky design. What is that... deca what..? Well it's basically a technique using a design I found online, cut out, dipped in water and applied to the nail. Clear polish was applied on top. Pretty cool huh?

Another Retro Polish

My camera and I seem to be having a bit of a falling out. I swear if it's not the focus it's the color.

So this time I decided to mix some old with new. I found this Maybeline Revitalizing color in Raspberry and brought in a touch of new with Zoya's Astra. I tell you Zoya's glitter polishes are super packed with glittery sparkle. Glitters as you know are a "you know what" to take off but look so nice when on the nails. For coarse glitters, that is those whose texture you can feel, I use 100% acetone. It just makes the job 100% quicker and easier.

Excuse the color and focus of the pic. As I mentioned Cam and I are fighting.

Shattered Nails with OPI

This is my first time using a shatter/crackle polish...can you believe it! I managed to get the highly sought after OPI Black Shatter and the verdicts in, I love it! I tried applying the shatter polish horizontally and it came out pretty nice. It gives my fingers character.

My base polish is Avon's Naliwear Pro Tangtastic and on top of the shatter I added a touch of glitter using Cover Girl's Boundless Color in City Lights #430 (which I picked up on clearance @ Target). Curbing enthusiasm..lol So here it is. What do you think?
